Who is KAT

KAT is run by Toms Katkevics, a first-generation jeweler born in Riga, Latvia. Toms studied at leading schools for metal design, including the Riga Design and Art School (RDMV) and the Art Academy of Latvia (LMA), where he learned from professionals in the fields of art and design how to shape metal using a wide range of techniques according to his own vision.

He later worked for several years as an apprentice alongside a goldsmith, learning the craft in its most practical form—setting stones, carrying out repairs, soldering chains, and much more.

General Information

Material & Tools
All necessary tools for jewelry making are provided.
If you’d like to work in gold or set a stone, this must be communicated beforehand — I can provide materials or you’re welcome to bring your own.

Result
Every participant takes home a finished piece of jewelry — something you can wear for years and maybe even pass on to the next generation.
When working with wax, your piece will be cast externally and ready within about a week. The final polishing and finishing are included in the workshop.

Experience Level
All workshops are completely beginner-friendly and fully guided by me, a trained jeweler with 8 years of formal study and professional experience.
Minimum age: 18+

Atmosphere
Relaxed and creative — we’ll listen to good music, drink great coffee, and if you fancy, a glass of wine or prosecco.
(Max. 2 participants — couples welcome!)
